PVD Color Coated Stainless Steel — Architectural Color, Engineered in Metal

PVD Color Coated Stainless Steel
Architectural Color. Engineered in Metal.
PVD color transforms stainless steel through metallic tone while preserving the character of the underlying surface — from controlled brushed grain to high reflection and soft matte texture.
Color Is Only Half the Surface.
PVD color does not replace the character of stainless steel — it works with it.
The same metallic tone can appear restrained, reflective, textured or dramatic depending on the base surface beneath the coating.
For architectural specification, color and surface finish should therefore be considered together.
Specify the color. Then specify how the color should behave.
Over Brushed
The grain gives the metallic tone a controlled linear direction.
Over Mirror
The same color reads brighter, deeper and more reflective.
Over Bead Blasted
Diffused texture turns the color quieter and more restrained.
Build the Metallic Palette.
Six visual directions rather than a promise of a fixed catalogue. Final tone is established by approved physical sample.
Warm & Refined
A restrained metallic gold suited to contemporary architectural interiors and feature elements.
Distinctive & Luminous
A stronger metallic expression for spaces where material color becomes part of the architectural identity.
Warm & Contemporary
A softer metallic tone with a warmer visual character.
Deep & Dramatic
A dark metallic finish for strong contrast and contemporary architectural expression.
Cool & Restrained
A neutral metallic tone designed for quieter material palettes.
Project-Specific
Color direction can be developed around project references and approved physical samples.
One Color. Different Material Expressions.
Champagne Gold shown over four base surfaces. The metallic tone stays the same; the way it holds and returns light does not.
Directional
Fine grain gives the color a controlled linear character.
Soft Metallic
Brushed texture softens reflection while retaining visible metallic grain.
Reflective
High polish transforms the same color into a brighter, more visually dynamic surface.
Matte
Diffused texture creates a quieter and more restrained interpretation of the same metallic tone.
Base surface is part of the specification: the same PVD color is produced differently on brushed, mirror and bead blasted substrates.
Metallic Color Changes with Light.
Metallic surfaces respond continuously to lighting, viewing angle and surrounding materials. A PVD color may therefore appear warmer, deeper or more reflective as the architectural environment changes.
Natural Tone
Daylight reveals the relationship between metallic color and the underlying stainless steel surface.
Warmer Expression
Warm artificial lighting can deepen gold, champagne and bronze-like visual impressions.
Surface Definition
Directional light emphasizes grain, polish or texture beneath the color.
Screen color is a reference only. Final selection should be confirmed by physical sample.
Color Becomes Part of the Space.

Entrance × Champagne
Warm Arrival
A champagne-toned portal and canopy set the material temperature of the whole building.

Elevator × Bronze Tone
Material Continuity
Colour carried from lobby to cabin so the interior reads as one continuous material.

Ceiling × Gold
Architectural Rhythm
Coloured metal overhead reads as rhythm and depth rather than surface decoration.

Wall × Black Titanium
Deep Contrast
A dark metallic plane that anchors retail and corporate interiors.

Facade × PVD
Architectural Color
Colour and profile together give the elevation its identity.

Bespoke × PVD
Custom Material Identity
Bar, reception, display and sculptural features developed around one colour direction.

Facade suitability should be evaluated according to environment, substrate, finish and performance requirements.
From Approved Sample to Production.
Architectural PVD specification depends on more than a color name. Base finish, material condition, lighting and production consistency all influence the final visual result.
The approved physical sample therefore becomes the project reference for subsequent production.
Base Surface
Confirm the underlying brushed, mirror or matte character.
Color Reference
Establish the approved metallic tone by physical sample.
Production Consistency
Control visual variation across the confirmed production requirement.
Panel Coordination
Consider adjacent sheets and fabricated components as one architectural surface.
Color Difference: ΔE 1.0–1.5* Subject to confirmed project specification, finish and approved sample.
Color Has to Continue Through the Detail.
PVD stainless steel often becomes a fabricated architectural component rather than remaining a flat sheet. Panel orientation, cutting, bending, visible returns and surface protection should therefore be considered together with the final color appearance.
Panel Planning
Coordinate color and surface direction.
Cutting
Develop components around the required finished face.
Bending & Returns
Consider how light and color change across adjoining planes.
Surface Protection
Protect the approved finish through fabrication, packing and handling.
Across a 90° bend the same sheet presents three different planes to the light, so the colour reading changes from face to bend to return. Panel layout and viewing direction should be agreed against the approved sample.
